Jan Prisco is a landscape artist working in pastel and oil paints. Most of her paintings are begun in pelin air, covering locations from San Francisco, the Peninsula and as far south as Big Sur. Her landscapes emphasize simplification and value while capturing vibrant color and light.
In addition to exhibiting her work at Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park, Jan teaches plein air workshops every fall and summer, holds indoor classes at University Art in Redwood City, teaches plein air workshops for Filoli estate, in Woodside, CA, and she gives individual lessons in pastel. She was recently included on the “Notable Artist” list by California Plein Air Painters and has participated in several juried shows both local and international.
Jan’s work can also be seen at the Portola Art Gallery, in Menlo Park, CA and on her website.
