Like most artists, Nancy Woods has been making art in various forms most of her life. She graduated from The California College of Arts and Crafts in 1972 majoring in Graphics and then finishing with a Bachelors of Fine Art.
Nancy has a studio in the Peninsula Museum of Art in Burlingame along with 29 other artists. She says of her work “My art these days takes a left turn at the color wheel. I call myself a Whimsey Consultant. I like to help people get in touch with that child within. We spend most of our growing up life trying to fit in. Then much later for most, we try to distinguish ourselves from everyone else.
Life is so serious and often a struggle. Having some fun in your “house” that represents your connection to the “whimsical world” is revitalizing. I love what I produce and hope it brings happiness to others.”
Each piece of furniture has a different type of surface so it pretty much dictates what style of art Nancy chooses to put on it. Always using vivid acrylic colors and adding metallic powders puts her art in the “FUN” category.
